liquid courage?

After researching a range of products that are living proof that ‘sex sells’ (or at least attempts to often) i set my task for this week – to give advertising a go…

I thought it would be best to advertise something that wasnt an existing product, so a friend and i brainstormed intangable product ideas during the evening tram ride home, here are some of the ones we came up with

  • an imaginary friend
  • emotion (boxed, bottled or brewed?)
  • memories (a USB device that plugs into your head?)
  • time travel experiences

So i have chosen ‘liquid courage’ as my product to advertise. Its a bottled tonic for guys, that makes them feel braver. :) Not too convinced iv hit the target with my first few attempts that this, but you have to start somewhere true? Take a look at the posters and tell me what you think!

  1. try placing the product out of the framing of the main image(s) and the text. this will allow for the audience to connect the lines in which the product is associating to. also places more emphasis on the main image being that of a sexual selling scheme.

  2. Well Sim, I love the concept of Liquid Courage… but why just for men? Apparently (according to X trashy magazine) “guys LOVE it when ladies take the lead”. Perhaps an accompanying pill/capsule – First Movemaker, for women? Could be a less concentrated dose of Liquid Courage?

I think the first and thrid images are the most successful, though completely opposite. 1- Blatant sexual references, 3- Subtle, but inescapably sexual.
Also, the imaginary friend image screams of those erection (or lack there of) ads, you know, with the amazing nasal technology. Man, those ads are annoying! Especially because they are ALWAYS in your face, no matter what medium – radio, tv, print even…

  3. Very good advertisements but you spelt “disappoint” wrong in your last one. Spelling nazi! haha
